I have always enjoyed crocheting and In the late 70’s I found a filet crochet pattern for an afghan which I found so easy and fast that I finished the afghan in just 2 days. I had so many ideas for afghans I bought some graph paper and started designing. I made afghans for everyone I knew with pictures of their children, pets, cars, shamrocks for my Irish friends, just about anything you can imagine.
I live in Wisconsin, designing and crocheting are the best way to spend the long winters here. I have been in the restaurant business most of my life and crocheting is the most relaxing part of my day. I am looking forward to retirement so I will have more time to design and to spend time with my 7 grandchildren.
I love the ease of crocheting and watching the pattern appear. The best thing about these designs are that they are very easy and an afghan can be crocheted in about 14 hours. This is a passion that is exciting to have.
I have had my designs published in Crochet Fantasy Magazine and Annie’s Pattern Club. I won a crochet contest in McCalls Magazine and 2 Ribbons at the Wisconsin State Fair. Leisure Arts just published a book with 8 of my designs.
